The Meiller Gardens were established on the formerly northern part of the Meiller factory site in Munich-Moosach and form a new, green urban quarter. Business apartments, family flats and flats suitable for senior citizens are offered. One third of the residences are erected as “Munich Model Rent and EOF” social housings. All housing units permanently remain the property of the principals. All residential buildings comply with the KfW 55 standard and use groundwater heat pumps for heating and cooling as well as photovoltaics for power generation. Extensively greened roofs, open spaces and parks create a largely traffic-free, green environment with a pleasant microclimate. E-mobility, public transport, renting and sharing offers for modern mobility are possible. Like a pleated blind, the unfolded facade provides a descriptive and specific appearance, sometimes creating protective and unobservable balconies and generating an added value for the flats. The same applies to the integrated facade greening, which also illustrates the sustainability claim within the entire neighbourhood. The use of renewable energies as well as sustainable and ecological building materials pursue this claim consistently. But most important are the flats: planned, constructed and equipped well. The residents meet, find playgrounds and meeting places in the green environment as well as cultural and event spaces. Baumit Kick facade. 80 % mineral-insulation. The fact that the insulation has also been cut round in the reveals and on the facade is a feature. The smooth components were designed with Baumit RK 70N, in comb-pull technique.
