Thelxinois Apartments

Thelxinois challenges the concept of the outdated city apartment block. Designed across geometry and light, the dynamic forms differ in density and scale across the site as an array of positive and negative volumes. The entrance is arranged around a pine, funnelling into a cantilevered portic. Behind the front doors, a trellised arcade leads to the central glass light chimney dividing the complex, between the X and Y axes. Carefully aligned and balanced with existing mature trees around the site edge, the building’s glass panel facade sections reflect the greenery to further soften the profile and massing.
