The first stone of the Prince Vladimir Church, one of the largest in the Irkutsk region, was laid in 1888. Funds for its construction were allocated by the Irkutsk merchant Vasily Litvintsev, so the monastery is sometimes called "Litvintsevskaya" or White - because of the color of the walls. It was founded in honor of the 900th anniversary of the baptism of Rus by Prince Vladimir. Hence the name and the reference to the Old Russian architecture in appearance. The main building of the monastery is the Prince Vladimir Church. Its golden onion domes, tent bell tower and other decoration techniques are inspired by national architecture. This is the only snow building in the city. A small rectangle of the main volume of the temple is, as it were, divided by pillars into identical cells. The domes crowning the church are located on the east above the altar and on the west above the service rooms. In the center of the composition is a tent bell tower in several tiers, the decoration of which is made in the style of Old Russian brick pattern.
