"Nikolaus Lenau" is a theoretical high school in Timișoara, established in 1870. The current school building was built in 1761 and was used as a magistrate's house and as a theater. In 1878 the building was brought to its current form. In the beginning, the language of instruction was only German. The high school is named after the romantic poet Nikolaus Lenau, who was originally from the Banat village that bears his name today, Lenauheim, Timiș.
