The Palace built in eclectic style, with gothic elements, dates from 1905, being a much simplified copy of the Venetian Palace Ca d'Oro (Golden House) in Venice. The exterior of the Palace highlights decorative elements and structures from the most flourishing period of the Venetian Gothic, characterized by the frequent use of Byzantine and Moorish elements.

Dodatkowa informacja

On the present site there was an older house, also owned by the architect's family, the intention to build here a reference palace for Oradea, existing since 1859. The owner and builder of the palace was Rimanóczy Kálmán the father, and the designer, his son, the architect Rimanóczy Kálmán junior. It is not coincidental that it is similar to the famous palace in Venice, but even the story behind the two constructions connects them. Both are the result of the father-son relationship on a professional level, because Cá d'Oro was also made by a father and a son: the sculptor Giovanni Bon and his son, Bartolomeo. Thus, the architects of Oradea choose this landmark to express through the new palace the metaphor of the inheritance of the architectural thrill from father to son. The details on the façade are reminiscent of the medieval era, these being representative of the Venetian Gothic, an architectural current that flourished in Venice in the fifteenth century. The building was designed on three levels, each with well-established functionalities: the high ground floor would serve commercial spaces, and the floors had dozens of one- or three-room apartments. Today, in addition to personal homes, various offices or medical offices operate in the palace located at the intersection of Republic streets and Traian Park.
