The house was built at the turn of the 19th Century by Adolph Gerard. Rustication is a characteristic feature of the ground floor with façade walls with wide and narrow strips to go along with the grouted Flemish brickwork and the floral patterns on the decorative elements and the consoles.

The house was built at the turn of the 19th Century by Adolph Gerard, one of the founding fathers of the Art Nouveau style in French architecture. He was the Chief Engineer and Director of the Port of Marseille and was later invited to help in the building of the Port of Burgas. Rustication is a characteristic feature of the ground floor with façade walls with wide and narrow strips to go along with the grouted Flemish brickwork and the floral patterns on the decorative elements and the consoles. The building was declared a cultural heritage site and currently houses the Promenade Hotel.
