Kadıovacık Biohouse
It aims to create an exemplary building respecting human and environment health. It's designed and implemented according to building biology and ecology principles. Single-floor building has three units;one for office, two is for residential. Form of the structure creates inner gardens for each unit.

Dodatkowa informacja
The materials selected for and applied to the upper structure of Kadıovacık Bio-house are mostly plant/tree based and/or constituted of untreated clay. These materials are determinant in healthy indoor climate; moreover, they influence the resilience of the building. Thanks to these materials, in the phase of demolition, the building will lead to minimum waste. These natural materials and their applications are: cedar wooden frame and roof beams of the building, reed insulation panels, cellulose roof insulation, earth blocks (are used for all the wall fillings), clay based raw and decorative plasters, lime plaster and clay paint (are used for inner wall cover), cedar wood (is used for outside wall covers, ceiling cover and floors), pine ( is used for window frames), plywood (is used for doors, kitchen cabinets and wardrobes). Earth blocks, rammed clay panels, clay plaster and lime plaster are especially preferred for indoor balance of humidity, for the heat storage capacity and ecological values. Kadıovacık Bio-house aims maximum energy efficiency by means of its architecture. As an example; the wall components are determined according to the diverse positions of the façades, this leads to appropriate functioning: some walls store the heat and others insulate it. Together with particular wall solutions, the form and orientation of the building, window apertures and roof design; the building natural cooling capacity in the summer and heating capacity in the winter increases. With the low embedded energy and rather local procurement of the natural building materials and mostly local craftmanship, Kadıovacık Biohouse’ ecological footprint staid much lower than most of its Leed certified counterparts in Europe. So, the construction helped the local economy and even catalyzed laminated wood production the region. Kadıovacık Biohouse is also the first building in Turkey that Life Cycle Analysis is made for.
