Rue CURIAL
The study of the urban context and of the Local Urban Planning Plan directed us towards a densification of the project on the Rue Curial side and more urban breathing on the Crimean side. This configuration makes it possible to propose a building that makes the link between the urban and busy scale of the Rue Curial and the calmer atmosphere of the Crimean Passage.

The building template on Rue Curial is designed at ground floor level 6, the Local Urban Planning Plan allows for building up to ground floor 7. We have favoured R+6, which is less penalizing in height for adjoining buildings and visually softer for the profile of the street. Moreover, this height is consistent with that of the building located at 50, rue Curial, which also has a R+6 gauge. On the Crimean passage side, in a 6m wide strip along the adjoining building with number 11, occupied by the marble, the project proposes a volume limited to R+4 and a green space left free, minimising the impact of this gable wall. This configuration allows for a smooth transition of the built heights between the corner of Rue Curial and the rest of the Crimean passage which is bordered, on the PLU, by a net limiting the height of the facades to 10m. Moreover, the position of the space left free for construction in the south-east corner of the plot allows the creation of south-facing facades and, thus, the optimisation of natural solar gains. On the Rue Curial side, the volume is hollowed out above the R+3 in its southern part. The facade is then aligned with that of 50, rue Curial, which is set back from the street alignment. This arrangement makes it possible to reduce the size of the gable wall on the neighbouring plot and to preserve as much as possible its views and natural light. The homogeneous and pure volume proposed on the Crimean Passage is here re-cut into moving and dancing strata that shelter the private balconies of openwork metal. With a simple and elegant gesture, these movements allow the project to enter into dialogue with the very heterogeneous built environment of the district and add a harmonious and evanescent rhythm to the "music of the city".
